Draw this in your own style

Coloured up the sketch from yesterday! I love these #drawthisinyourstyle challenges, they're always good fun and @KatyHalford1's characters are too lovely to resist!

Something I pitched for, but just missed out on

Can finally show some samples for a thing that I missed out on a couple of months back, the author choose another illustrator, but I was really pleased with how this little character turned out!

Draw this in your own style

Had a go at @timbudgen's #pandarina #drawthisinyourstyle which you should check out! Made Princess Skye a bit older, but kinda like it! Point those toes!

DrawMoor

Here's a sketch for this week’s #DrawMoor prompt 'A grumpy mermaid at an underwater tea party.' Shame no one's turned up for this mermaids tea party!

Quite fancied not doing anything too finished for a change, was a fun thing to do to wind down my evening after ticking off my to do lists!

Band Together

The cover is always a fun part to do, and because the story is about a band and a solo act, I looked to record covers for inspiration.
My editor @ktineenderle was completely on board with the idea and suggested we make the book a cracking 10"x10" so it looked like a record in itself! 😎🎶

I start off with little thumbnails to see what's working, and then I'll size them up and have a play around with some colour ways and eventually it ends up as the final thing!
Can you spot which albums I was looking at in my tiny thumb roughs?!

Warming up today with this little lady

Minstrel and Mermaid

Got round to colouring these two up! REALLY wish I could be here on holidays

roughs

More rough thumbnailing today! This squiggle did make me chuckle (does anyone else laugh to themselves when they're drawing?!)

Thumbing up some roughs for an idea for the fab four! Here's a couple of Seagull

Herschel

Herschel Hedge-Wizard paused as he re-tied his boot, wondering when Summer had ended and Autumn had elbowed its way in already
Hope it's warm and sunny where you are. Getting a bit cheesed off with all this wet weather!

Minstrel and Mermaid

Minstrels popped up again when I should be doing something else! He has a habit of doing that
Here he is with the band, but where's Mermaid?

Strong look

Had to sketch this gal after seeing her walk down my street yesterday evening!

NEW REPRESENTATION NEWS!!

**EXCITING NEWS TRUMPET** I am super proud as punch to say I'm represented by Emily Talbot at United Agents!

Mermay

Plenty of swords to choose from when you're a lady of the lake!

Mermay

Haven't quite let go of #mermay it turns out. Working something else up!

Junicorn

How is it June already?!!
Here's a warm down illo to mark the beginning of #junicorn!

Mermay

I think I drew this for #mermay because I'm missing going on Italian holidays *sigh* Also, imagine all the beautiful glass you'd find as a canal mermaid living in Venice/Murano!

work in progress

Slowly working up an illo, thwarted by what colour to do the background. Will get there eventually. I'm in love with this little romantic minstrel though
